Article Synopsis
  • The research focuses on creating a fast and efficient electrochemical sensor for selectively detecting dopamine, addressing challenges with traditionally slow preparation methods of transition metal selenides combined with carbon materials.
  • A novel method using dielectric barrier discharge microplasma was developed to quickly synthesize a composite electrode made of cobalt selenide nanospheres and nitrogen-doped polymeric carbon dots on carbon cloth, resulting in sensitive detection capabilities for dopamine in human serum samples.
  • The study highlights the advantages of this energy-efficient synthesis process and uses theoretical calculations to explain the electrode's effectiveness in catalyzing dopamine oxidation.

The accumulation of small doses of hydrogen peroxide (HO) into food can cause many diseases in the human body, and it is urgent to develop efficient detection methods of HO. Herein, the hierarchical structure composite of NiCo-LDH nanosheets crosslinked NiMoO nanorods was grown in situ on carbon cloth (NiMoO NRs@NiCo-LDH NSs/CC) by micro-plasma assisted hydrothermal method. Thanks to the synergistic effect of three metals and (NiMoO NRs@NiCo-LDH NSs/CC) provided by nanorods/nanosheets hierarchical structure, NiMoO NRs@NiCo-LDH NSs/CC exposes more active sites and achieves rapid electron transfer.
