Soil contamination by potentially toxic elements (PTEs) poses a significant threat to crop quality and human health, making it a global concern. However, the distribution patterns of PTEs across different land-use types are not well understood. To investigate the relationship between the reduction and retention effects of various ecosystem types on soil PTEs, we analyzed five categories of target elements in 299 soil samples from the southeastern Yunnan Province.

This study aimed to provide references for optimizing long-term care insurance policies in Shandong Province by measuring the preferences of urban and rural older people for LTCI.
Methods: Based on the discrete choice experiment, a questionnaire survey was conducted on urban and rural older people from Shandong Province.
Objectives: To investigate the effects of age, period, and cohort on the trends of depression; and to examine the influence of these three temporal effects on residential disparities in depression.
Methods: Using data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) during 2011 to 2020, involving 77,703 respondents aged 45 years old and above. The measurement of depressive symptoms was the score of 10-question version of the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D 10).
We report herein a visible-light induced, Fe-catalyzed selenocyclization of 2-ethynylanilines with diselenides under ambient conditions, employing ethyl acetate as a benign solvent with no stoichiometric additive required. The simple iron salt FeBr serves as both a photo-induced LMCT (Ligand-to-Metal Charge Transfer) catalyst and a Lewis acid catalyst to promote the desired transformation in a sustainable manner, enabling the facile synthesis of diverse 3-selenylindoles with extended substitution patterns. Moreover, gram-scale reactions and late-stage functionalization of bioactive molecules further highlight the synthetic practicality of this method.

Thermal emitters based on GeSbTe (GST) can flexibly change their radiation energy by controlling the reversible phase transition of GST, which possesses fast switching speed and low power consumption. However, the feasibility of the dynamic regulation of GST emitters lacks experimental and simulation verification.

The utilization of antibacterial textiles offers an effective way to combat bacterial infections at the source, instead of relying solely on antibiotic consumption. Herein, efficient and durable antibacterial fibers based on quercetin and cellulose were prepared by a triaxial microfluidic spinning technology using ionic liquids (ILs) as the solvents.

However, excessive programming can lead to a decrease in the system's operating speed and introduce bugs or data transmission delays. In this study, we present a time-shared optical tweezers system that allows for parallel operation of multiple functions.

Notably, these sustainable transformations are completed within a short time with low equivalents of charges, diselenides and electrolytes, exhibiting a broad substrate scope with excellent functional group compatibility. Moreover, a gram-scale electrosynthesis and late-stage functionalization of complex molecules further demonstrate the practical synthetic potential of this facile electrochemical system.

In the case of the piezoelectric galloping energy harvester, there is a risk that excessive wake galloping may lead to instability, overload, and thus damage. With this in mind, this paper studies bivariate statistics of the extreme, experimental galloping energy harvester dynamic response under realistic environmental conditions.

It is necessary to study the influence of alloying elements on the MIC. SRB MIC behaviors of four stainless steels (2205 SS, 316L SS, 304 SS, and 410 SS), with different alloying element compositions were compared after 14 days of incubation at 37°C in enriched artificial seawater inoculated with Desulfovibrio sp.

However, their oxidation reactions are very challenging as the products are more active than the substrates, especially for the oxidation of cyclohexane (CHA). Herein, we focused on the one-step preparation of BiWO with double active sites of tunable metallic Bi and oxygen vacancies (OV-Bi/BiWO) by a facile solvothermal treatment.

Here, we report a case initially presented with SCLC and was diagnosed as LUAD when the lesion relapsed at the same site. A 56-year-old patient with SCLC who received etoposide and cisplatin chemotherapy combined with radiotherapy achieved a complete radiological response.

Methods: Eighty patients with osteonecrosis of the femoral head were randomly allocated into a treatment group and a control group, with 40 patients in each group. The patients in the control group were treated with the adductor relaxation method.
Tumor metastasis is the leading cause of cancer-associated mortality. Unfortunately, the underlying mechanism of metastasis is poorly understood. Expression of legumain (LGMN), an endo-lysosomal cysteine protease, positively correlates with breast cancer metastatic progression and poor prognosis.

The direct employment of polyfluoroarenes and -difluoroalkenes as building blocks is regarded as one of the most effective and straightforward strategies for the introduction of fluorine-containing moieties into organic skeletons. Accordingly, radical chemistry has gradually become a mild and powerful method for the activation of their C-F bonds. The radical-based transformations of polyfluoroarenes and -difluoroalkenes can be primarily categorized into three types based on the specific intermediates involved: (1) multifluoroaryl radical anions, (2) monofluoroalkenyl radicals and (3) other radicals.

The porous Pt cores endow the core-shell nanostructures with high photothermal conversion efficiency (80%) in the near-infrared region, allowing for photothermal therapy (PTT) and photoacoustic imaging (PA) of tumors. The combination of the Pt core and porous CeO interlayer enhances the separation of photo-generated electrons and holes, which is beneficial for the generation of singlet oxygen.

This paper addresses the design optimization process of an energy harvesting device for scavenging energy from an e-gadget, utilizing its "rocking" motion. The plucking mechanism inspired by the frequency up-conversion technique provides initial displacement exciting piezoelectric beams and increases the total number of excitations multiple times. The harvester is designed in conjunction with the multidimensional surrogate optimization algorithm to maximize the device's performance considering the geometrical features of the concept and the constrained operating environment.

Toggling of antiferromagnetic states is demonstrated in prototype device structures at CMOS compatible temperatures between 300 and 400 K. The boundary magnetization associated with the Néel vector orientation serves as state variable which is read via magnetoresistive detection in a Pt Hall bar adjacent to the B:CrO film.
