Article Synopsis
  • - Soil microorganisms are vital for connecting plants and nutrient cycling in the soil, but their interactions during ecological restoration in the Mu Us Desert are not well understood.
  • - A study assessed soil samples over 70 years of sand-fixing forest restoration, revealing that as restoration progressed, microbial community diversity, biomass of fungi, and bacteria increased, while the ratio of fungal to bacterial communities decreased.
  • - Key soil factors like moisture, pH, nitrogen, and organic carbon significantly influenced microbial community changes, accounting for 72.4% of the variations, indicating that soil properties are more impactful than vegetation in these dynamics.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates how the stoichiometric makeup of leaves reflects their ability to adapt to different environmental conditions, using a protected plant species as a case study.
  • 26 plots were set up to gather data on carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, and water use efficiency from leaf samples, aiming to establish connections between these variables.
  • Results showed stable leaf nutrient contents with nitrogen being a key limiting factor, while water use efficiency displayed different correlations with leaf nutrients based on various environmental influences, which could inform conservation efforts for desert plants.

To explore the stoichiometric characteristics of C, N and P and adaptive mechanism of mosses in mountain forest ecosystems, we set up 15 plots along the altitude gradient in forest in Helan Mountains, Ningxia. We analyzed the C:N:P stoichiometry of moss aboveground tissues and its relationship with environmental factors. The results showed the mean values of C, N and P concentration in moss aboveground tissues were 336.

To reveal the effects of plantations on soil microbial environment, the composition and diversity of soil fungi and bacterial communities in five restoration models (, , , , natural restoration) in the mountainous area of southern Ningxia were compared by using high-throughput sequencing technology. The correlation between soil physical-chemical properties and dominant microbial groups was analyzed. The results showed that: 1) Dominant fungi in different restoration models were Ascomycota, Basidiomycota, Mortierellomycota, and unclassified fungi, which accounted for 90% of total fungal community.

Objective: This study mainly aimed to evaluate complications of cement leakage for osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral compression fractures by PVP using HVC, and access the clinical efficacy.

Methods: Between May 2013 and June 2015, 66 patients with osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral compression fractures, who underwent PVP (36 HVC and 30 LVC) in our hospital, were enrolled. Cement leakage, Visual Analog Scale (VAS), Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), refracture of the cemented vertebrae, and adjacent vertebral fractures were evaluated.

Background: Current studies evaluating the association of tea consumption and bone mineral density (BMD) have yielded inconsistent findings. Therefore, we conducted a meta-analysis to assess the relationship between tea consumption and BMD.

Methods: The PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases were comprehensively searched, and a meta-analysis performed of all observational studies assessing the association of tea consumption and BMD.

Objective: To evaluate clinical outcomes of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) reconstruction under arthroscopy combined with limited open repair of medial collateral ligament (MCL) for the treatment of multiple ligament injuries of knee joints.

Methods: From March 2006 and June 2012,the data of 14 patients (14 knees) with multiple injuries of ACL, PCL, and MCL were collected. There were 8 males and 6 females with an average age of (31.
