Article Synopsis
  • This study aimed to investigate if there's a link between nonspecific reactive hepatitis and respiratory virus infections in children hospitalized for lower respiratory issues.
  • It found that children with elevated liver enzyme levels (ALT and AST) had longer hospital stays and were generally younger, with adenovirus infections showing the highest rates of increased liver enzymes.
  • The results suggest that nonspecific reactive hepatitis is more prevalent in younger patients with certain respiratory viruses, and ALT is a more reliable indicator of its severity than AST.
