Keshan disease (KD), an endemic myocardiopathy, with unknown etiology, is still threatening human health. Proteomics studies of Keshan disease is rarely known. In the current study, isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation (iTRAQ) labeling coupled with two-dimensional liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (2D-LC-MS/MS) was firstly used to screen for the differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) in serum between Keshan disease and healthy residents in endemic area.
