Incidence and risk factors of recurrence of overactive bladder symptoms after discontinuation of successful medical treatment.

Purpose: To identify incidence and risk factors of recurrence after discontinuation of successful antimuscarinic therapy in patients with overactive bladder (OAB).

Materials And Methods: This was a prospective, multicenter trial. Patients who had antimuscarinic agents for more than 12 weeks and showed successful response were enrolled.

Expression analysis and clinical significance of CXCL16/CXCR6 in patients with bladder cancer.

The interactions between chemokines and their receptors are closely involved in the progression and metastasis of cancer. We hypothesized that the CXCL16-CXCR6 ligand-receptor system plays an important role in bladder cancer progression. To evaluate this hypothesis, the expression levels of CXCL16 and CXCR6 were evaluated in 160 patients, including 155 patients with bladder cancer and 5 patients with benign bladder disease.

Laparoscopic removal of a broken sewing needle in a patient with irritative bladder symptoms.

A foreign body near the bladder is rare. Although foreign bodies in the bladder can be easily found and removed by endoscopic transurethral removal, extravesical foreign bodies may require the use of an open or laparoscopic procedure. Here, we report a case of a patient complaining of frequency and urgency in whom an extravesical sewing needle was successfully removed by a laparoscopic approach.

Prediction of perineural invasion and its prognostic value in patients with prostate cancer.

Purpose: The prognostic significance of perineural invasion by prostate cancer is debated. We investigated the association between perineural invasion and clinicopathological factors and the effect of perineural invasion on survival in patients with prostate cancer.
