Coinage metal (Au, Ag, Cu) cluster and polyoxometalate (POM) cluster represent two types of subnanometer "artificial atoms" with significant potential in catalysis, sensing, and nanomedicine. While composite clusters combining Ag/Cu clusters with POM have achieved considerable success, the assembly of gold clusters with POM is still lagging. Herein, we first designedly synthesized two cluster structural units: an AuO cluster stabilized by diverse N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands and an amine-terminated POM linker.

This study aims to explore a novel strategy that greatly reduces contact time using a superhydrophobic mesh surface with multiple sets of mutually perpendicular ridges while minimizing the influence of the impacting location. The effects of the impact Weber numbers and ridge spacing on the characteristics of the impact dynamics and contact time are studied experimentally.

Exploring the photochromic properties of such materials is valuable for understanding the structural changes and electron transfer processes that occur under high energy radiation, such as X-ray irradiation. Here, a crystalline silver(I) nanocluster synthesized from -butylacetylene silver was found to have the ability to exhibit color and photoluminescence changes upon exposure to X-ray radiation.

Here, we attempted to prepare a new post-modified ZIF-90-based material by addition reaction of the aldehyde group with bisulfite to obtain partially functionalized ZIF-90-SONa. ZIF-90-SONa exhibits a high proton conductivity of 2.

The UV-vis reflectance spectra and Mott-Schottky measurements reveal that could be a suitable catalyst for photocatalysis.

Structure analysis reveals that the polyoxoanion of / is a discrete dimer built by two trivalent Keggin [B-α-XWO] (X = Si/Ge) fragments and one octa-Cu cluster, whereas and display a two-dimensional network built by octa-Cu-sandwiched POT units via substitution of coordinated water on polyanions of and and further expand into a three-dimensional framework via K cation bridges. Ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance spectra reveal that are potential semiconductor materials.

Purpose: To evaluate the treatment effect of topical doxycycline on avulsed permanent teeth compared with normal saline.
Methods: A total of 44 avulsed teeth from 38 patients (22 boys and 16 girls, aged 7-14 years) were recruited. Twenty-one teeth in group A were treated with doxycycline for 5 min before replantation while 23 teeth in group B were treated with saline solution.
Rationale: Multiple primary carcinoma (MPM) refers to simultaneous or successive occurrence of ≥2 types of primary malignant tumors in a single organ or in different organs of the same individual. It is rarely seen in clinical practice. Among the various types of MPM, hilar cholangiocarcinoma combined with gastric cancer is extremely rare.

Objective: This study aimed to explore the influence of Rce1 on invasion and migration of tongue squamous cell carcinoma cells by silencing the Rce1 gene with RNA interference.
Methods: The tongue squamous cell carcinoma Cal-27 and SCC-4 cells were cultured in vitro. The small interfering RNA (siRNA) of the Rce1 gene was designed, and the Rcel gene expression was silenced vialiposome transfection.
Background: Pancreatic cancer is a highly invasive malignant tumor. Expression levels of the autophagy-related protein microtubule-associated protein 1A/1B-light chain 3 (LC3) and perineural invasion (PNI) are closely related to its occurrence and development. Our previous results showed that the high expression of LC3 was positively correlated with PNI in the patients with pancreatic cancer.

Our previous study revealed that miR-33 could increase the expression of fatty acyl desaturases (fads2) in the rabbitfish Siganus canaliculatus, but the specific mechanism is unknown. Here, we confirmed that miR-33 could target the 3'UTR of insulin-induced gene 1 (insig1), resulting in downregulation of its protein level in the rabbitfish hepatocyte line (SCHL).

Colorectal cancer is one of the most severe subtypes of cancer, and has the highest propensity to manifest as metastatic disease. Because of the lack of knowledge of events that correlate with tumor cell migration and invasion, few therapeutic options are available. The current study aimed to explore the mechanism of colorectal cancer in hope of identifying the ideal target for future treatment.
