Cataract surgery is the most common surgery done to help people see better, but it can sometimes lead to a serious problem called retinal detachment (RD), which can harm eyesight.
A big study looked at over 5 million patients and found that about 37,000 of them experienced RD after surgery, which is about 0.66 cases for every 100 patients.
The study also showed that men are more likely to get RD after cataract surgery than women.
