The current global water crisis has prompted research into technologies that can reuse different water resources to mitigate water scarcity. The use of treated greywater can be proposed to provide additional water resources. By reusing this water in different applications, this water crisis can be mitigated at the local scale.

Ongoing education on sexual health and other health promotion topics is critical as young people transition into adulthood. A "booster" round of education may be an effective strategy to reinforce information previously taught and expand to additional topics relevant later in adolescence. The main objective of this work was to study the release of cinnamaldehyde (CIN) from electrospun poly lactic acid (PLA) mats obtained through two techniques: (i) direct incorporation of active compound during the electrospinning process (PLA-CIN); and (ii) supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO₂) impregnation of CIN within electrospun PLA mats (PLA/CIN). The development and characterization of both of these active electrospun mats were investigated with the main purpose of modifying the release kinetic of this active compound. A complete mineralization of a textile dye widely used in the Chilean textile industry, acid yellow 42 (AY42), was studied. Degradation was carried out in an aqueous solution containing 100mgL(-1) of total organic carbon (TOC) of dye using the advanced solar photoelectro-Fenton (SPEF) process in a lab-scale pilot plant consisting of a filter press cell, which contains a boron doped diamond electrode and an air diffusion cathode (BDD/air-diffusion cell), coupled with a solar photoreactor for treat 8L of wastewater during 270min of electrolysis. The main results obtained during the degradation of the textile dye were that a complete transformation to CO2 depends directly on the applied current density, the concentration of Fe(2+) used as catalyst, and the solar radiation intensity.

This study aims to propose a membrane contactor process for the selective removal and recovery of SO2 from wines in order to obtain its reliable quantification.
