Punctal Plug as a Treatment Option for Dry Eye Associated with Congenital Supernumary Puncta.

This study aims to describe a case of double lower lacrimal punctum-canaliculi in a dry eye patient treated with a punctal plug. A 60-year-old healthy female presented with complaints of tearing, itchy eyes, and foreign body sensation in the right eye for many years. There was no history of trauma or inflammation.

A steep peripheral ring in irregular cornea topography, real or an instrument error?

Purpose: To demonstrate that the steep peripheral ring (red zone) on corneal topography after myopic laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) could possibly due to instrument error and not always to a real increase in corneal curvature.

Methods: A spherical model for the corneal surface and modifying topography software was used to analyze the cause of an error due to instrument design. This study involved modification of the software of a commercially available topographer.

Chronic Inflammation in an Anophthalmic Socket due to a Room Temperature Vulcanized Silicone Implant.

Two case reports are used to illustrate the signs and symptoms, complications and treatments of chronic socket inflammation due to intraorbital implants. The ophthalmic examination, surgeries and treatments are documented. Two anophthalmic cases that underwent enucleation and multiple orbital surgeries to enhance the anophthalmic socket volume developed pain, intense discharge and contracted cavities with chronic inflammation in the socket which was nonresponsive to medical therapy.

Benign fleck retinal findings on multifocal ERG, microperimetry, and OCT.

A middle-aged asymptomatic woman presented with multiple yellow-white flecks in the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) affecting both fundi in a symmetrical pattern. The lesions were distributed around the posterior pole and midperiphery but sparing the macula, a picture similar to what was defined by Gass as benign fleck retina. Visual acuity, visual fields, full-field electroretinogram, electrooculogram, and dark adaptation were normal.
