Design of Instructional Videos for People with Autism Who Want to Learn About Grocery Store Work: A Community, Business, Educational and Health Partnership.

To facilitate the integration of people with autism into the food industry labour market, this cross sectoral project aimed to design, validate and test instructional videos to concretely demonstrate various tasks in the grocery store, and to probe interest and assess knowledge about these tasks. Results are the delivery of 21 instructional videos validated for individuals with autism and 21 for mentors in grocery.

Intersectoral Development of an Evaluation Tool for the Socio-Professional Rehabilitation Process Adapted to People with Autism.

Since there was no French tool adapted to the reality of people with autism enrolled in a work integration program in Quebec, we have modified the Profile of Rehabilitation and Adaptation in a Work Context for People with Intellectual Disabilities according to the scientific literature on autism. Content validity (n=17) and applicability (n=5) were done with success. Result is an Excel compiler containing 3 informative tabs, 10 tabs on the dimensions of work rehabilitation (59 items) and 4 tabs used to compile the results.

Synthesis of Sialyl Lewis Mimetics with E- and P-Selectin Binding Properties and Immunosuppressive Activity.

E- and P-selectins are adhesion proteins implicated in immune cell recruitment at sites of infection, making them important drug targets for diseases involving excessive and uncontrolled inflammation. In this study, we developed an efficient strategy to synthesize bicyclic galactopyranosides through a key stereoselective equatorial C4-propiolate addition and TMSCN axial C-glycosidation. The nitrile group can then be converted to the carboxyl and different bioisosteres at a late stage in the synthesis, allowing for various derivatizations to potentially enhance biological activity.

Excess Soluble fms-like Tyrosine Kinase 1 Correlates With Endothelial Dysfunction and Organ Failure in Critically Ill Coronavirus Disease 2019 Patients.

Excess soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase 1 (sFlt-1), a soluble inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor pathway, has been demonstrated to promote endothelial dysfunction. Here, we demonstrate that sFlt-1 plasma levels correlate with respiratory symptom severity, expression of endothelial dysfunction biomarker, and incidence of organ failure in coronavirus disease 2019 patients. [Quality and determinants of anticoagulation therapy by AVK in elderly subjects: study of a continuous series of 155 patients hospitalized in geriatric medicine].

AVK could be prescribed in elderly patients over 75 years for the prevention of thromboembolic complications of atrial fibrillation (AF). The objective of this study was to study the quality of the anticoagulation balance by AVK and its determinants. Inclusion of all patients ≥ 75 years of age treated with AVK for an AF hospitalized in the acute geriatric department of the University hospital of Dijon.

[Mobilizing community around the lack of preventive measures against crime among 10- and 11-year-old children].

Originality and relevance are not the only factors in the success of innovative programs. Community consensus, expertise and credibility of staff, and evaluative approaches are important as well. Virgule ("Comma"), a program aimed at helping 10- and 11-year-olds who are first offenders, has these characteristics.
