Diffuse paediatric-type high-grade glioma, H3-wildtype and IDH-wildtype (H3/IDH-wt-pHGG) is a newly defined entity amongst brain tumours, primarily reported in children. It is a rare, ill-defined type of tumour and the only method to diagnose it is DNA methylation profiling. The case we report here carries new knowledge about this tumour which may, in fact, occur in elderly patients, be devoid of evocative genomic abnormalities reported in children and harbour a misleading mutation.

While scientists have been monitoring the movements and diving behaviour of sea turtles using Argos platform terminal transmitters for decades, the precise navigational mechanisms used by these animals remain an open question. Until now, active swimming motion has been derived from total motion by subtracting surface or subsurface modelled ocean currents, following the approximation of a quasi-two-dimensional surface layer migration. This study, based on tracking and diving data collected from 25 late-juvenile loggerhead turtles released from Reunion Island during their pre-reproductive migration, demonstrates the importance of considering the subsurface presence of the animals.

Objectives: The decree concerning quality management of implantable medical device circuits came into force in healthcare establishments on 26 May 2022. The aim of this project is to assess the level of safety of this circuit within the pharmacy, in order to improve it and bring it into line with this future regulation.

Methods: A grid for compliance with the decree was drawn up, enabling compliance rates to be calculated.

Among sarcomas, MDM2 amplification is usually a molecular hallmark of well-differentiated liposarcoma and dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DDLPS) and occasionally a secondary genetic anomaly in other sarcomas. Histological evaluation and FISH analysis showing MDM2 amplification led to the diagnosis of DDLPS for a tumor located on the left arm of a 71-year-old patient. The patient was treated by adjuvant radiotherapy (RT) but the tumor recurred soon after.

Macrophages from human and mouse skin share phenotypic and functional features, but remain to be characterized in pathological skin conditions. Skin-resident macrophages are known to derive from embryonic precursors or from adult hematopoiesis. In this report, we investigated the origins, phenotypes and functions of macrophage subsets in mouse and human skin and in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) using the spectral flow cytometry technology that enables cell autofluorescence to be considered as a full-fledged parameter.

Local or metastatic relapse following surgery, radiotherapy, and cisplatin is the leading cause of death in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Our study shows overexpression of c-MET and AXL in HNSCC cells and patients resistant to radiotherapy and cisplatin. We demonstrate that cabozantinib, an inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR), c-MET, and AXL, decreases migration, invasion, and proliferation and induces mitotic catastrophe and apoptotic cell death of naive and radiotherapy- and cisplatin-resistant HNSCC cells.

Aim: To study the innate immune function in ulcerative colitis (UC) patients who fail to respond to anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF) therapy.

Methods: Effects of anti-TNF therapy, inflammation and medications on innate immune function were assessed by measuring peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) cytokine expression from 18 inflammatory bowel disease patients pre- and 3 mo post-anti-TNF therapy. Toll-like receptor (TLR) expression and cytokine production post TLR stimulation was assessed in UC "responders" ( = 12) and "non-responders" ( = 12) and compared to healthy controls ( = 12).

The Diffuse Infiltrative Lymphocytosis Syndrome (DILS) is a rare multisystemic syndrome described in HIV-infected patients. During the disconnection of the arteriovenous fistulas, the nursing staff manages a hemorrhagic risk function of various factors requiring the use of an adapted haemostatic treatment. In front of numerous available references, it seemed interesting to us to standardize the coverage of this risk within the service of hemodialysis.
