Microbes are critical drivers of all ecosystems and many biogeochemical processes, yet little is known about how the three-dimensional (3D) organization of these dynamic organisms contributes to their overall function. To probe how biofilm structure affects microbial activity, we developed a technique for patterning microbes in 3D geometries using projection stereolithography to bioprint microbes within hydrogel architectures. Study findings support the hypothesis that timely, individualized audit and feedback can have a positive impact on immunization rate; generalized feedback that did not provide actionable information did not have the same impact. Tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha antagonists are a common treatment modality for autoimmune disorders, but their use can be associated with many side effects, including various dermatologic conditions. Certolizumab pegol, a newer TNF antagonist that lacks the Fc portion of the IgG antibody, has recently been approved to treat psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and Crohn's disease. This study assessed the effectiveness of a proactive respiratory protocol on an in-patient ward to identify trauma patients at risk for pulmonary complications, administer appropriate therapies, and prevent deterioration requiring transfer to the ICU.
Methods: Trauma patients received a respiratory therapy evaluation at the time of admission to a general in-patient ward at a Level 1 trauma center.

Materials with three-dimensional micro- and nanoarchitectures exhibit many beneficial mechanical, energy conversion and optical properties. However, these three-dimensional microarchitectures are significantly limited by their scalability. Efforts have only been successful only in demonstrating overall structure sizes of hundreds of micrometres, or contain size-scale gaps of several orders of magnitude.
