Managing embryonic and calves losses after twin pregnancies induced by transfer of -produced Nellore embryos.

Two farms applying reproductive technology for the Nellore beef cattle were selected. Both farms had the same technology programme of oestrous synchronization and embryo transfer, but management was different, especially regarding twins pregnancies. In the present study, we followed the farms from the moment of oestrous synchronization, embryo transfer (two per cow), until delivery and first care of the calves.

We evaluated the effects of the vitrification solution (i.e., ethylene glycol (EG) + dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) with or without propylene glycol (PG)) and of exposure time on the re-expansion and hatching rates of vitrified Bos indicus embryos.
