Basic dosimetric studies are necessary to support the use of photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT), since the great variety of laser parameters that are reported in the literature have created an obstacle to identifying reproducible results. Thus, the present study evaluates the process of tissue repair after the photobiomodulation therapy, taking into consideration the dose, frequency and the mode of energy delivery used. For this, 6 mm diameter wounds were created on dorsal skin of Wistar rats, and the animals were divided in control and irradiated groups, where L1 and L4 (irradiated with 1 point of 10 J/cm), L2 and L5 (5 points of 10 J/cm), L3 and L6 (1 point of 50 J/cm), respectively for one or multiple days of irradiations.

In this study, the effect of laser irradiation on the parotid glands (PGs) of diabetic rats was analyzed with regard to its effect on lipid droplet accumulation, intracellular calcium concentration and calmodulin expression. The animals were distributed into 6 groups: D0, D5, D20 and C0, C5, C20, for diabetic (D) and control animals (C), respectively.

The aim of this study was to compare the levels of depression, quality of life and sleep quality in hemodialysis patients with or without cancer, and to analyze the associations with the malnutrition-inflammation score (MIS).
Patients And Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 40 cancer patients under hemodialysis and 44 patients under hemodialysis without cancer who served as the control group were included.
Introduction: The bisphosphonates are drugs known by their antiresorptive potency and are widely prescribed for treating and preventing osteoporosis. In the past years the employment of this class of drugs had spread to other pathologies, and it is being prescribed to patients in a wide range of ages. Some adverse effects of bisphosphonate treatment have been highlighted recently, however, little is known about its potential side effects in salivary glands.
