Purpose: To analyze the muscle changes with high-intensity aerobic training (HIAT) in an animal model of renal disease (RD).

Methods: Twenty one adult Wistar rats were divided into 3 groups: healthy sedentary (HS), RD sedentary (RDS), RD aerobic training (RDAT). RDS and RDAT were subjected to unilateral renal ischemia-reperfusion (10 min) and 21days after that, RDAT was subjected to 6 weeks HIAT (swimming).

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of different application frequencies of dentifrices containing CPP-ACP and fluoride on enamel demineralization inhibition using a pH cycling model.

Methods: A total of 120 enamel blocks obtained from permanent human third molars were divided into eight groups according to the treatment and number of times that the dentifrice slurry was applied (three or five times): Control--Dentifrice without Fluoride (CO3 and CO5); Fluoride Dentifrice (FD3 and FD5--commercial dentifrice 1100 ppm as NaF); MI Paste (MP3 and MP5--Recaldent) and MI Paste Plus (MPP3 and MPP5--Recaldent 900 ppm as NaF). The specimens were alternately soaked in a demineralizing solution for 6 hours and in a remineralizing solution for 18 hours for 5 days.

Purpose: To establish a model of chronic kidney disease in White New Zealand rabbits, using an exclusive unilateral technique of renal ischemia and reperfusion.

Methods: Twenty males White New Zealand rabbits were used. All animals were subjected to the following: pre-surgical blood collection (1st collection) for creatinine and urea serum analysis, left renal ischemia and reperfusion surgery technique, another blood sample was collected after 6 weeks post surgery (2nd collection), the last blood sample (3rd collection) blood sample was taken 11 weeks post surgery (pre-euthanasia), euthanasia and withdrawal of right and left kidney for histopathological analysis.

Objective: To evaluate lung function and functional capacity in patients with chronic kidney failure (CKF) undergoing dialysis and in patients after kidney transplant.

Methods: Seventy-two participants were evaluated: 32 patients with CKF on dialysis (DG) for at least six months, ten patients who had kidney transplants (TG) at least six months earlier, and 30 healthy subjects as a control group (CG). All groups were evaluated using spirometry, with maximum inspiratory pressure (MIP) and maximum expiratory pressure (MEP), and using the six-minute walking test (6MWT).
