Complications with the use of Angio-Seal vascular closure device and their management.

Vascular closure devices (VCDs) are being increasingly used for achieving hemostasis after diagnostic and therapeutic endovascular procedures. Although uncommon, complications may be encountered which are associated with the use of these VCDs. We report four cases where the use of Angio-Seal (Terumo, Somerset, New Jersey, USA) was followed by complications.

Potential Surgical Implications of Internal Jugular Stenosis in a Craniocervical Junction Meningioma.

We report a case of a 61-year-old lady presenting with several weeks of progressive left-sided weakness, and found to have a foramen magnum meningioma. She was counselled on surgical resection of the tumour, and a preoperative computed tomography angiogram (CTA) was obtained for operative planning purposes. CTA demonstrated incidental bilateral internal jugular vein (IJV) stenosis, with enlarged extracranial collateral vessels and elongated styloid processes.

Endovascular treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysm is commonplace at present. It has got lower mortality and morbidity compared to open surgical repair. However, it requires long-term follow-up.
