Expression analysis of extracellular matrix components in brush biopsies of oral lesions.

Background: Oral brush biopsies have proved to be a promising new non-invasive methodology in the diagnosis of oral lesions. The extracellular matrix (ECM) molecules gamma2 chain of laminin-5 (L5gamma2), tenascin-c (Tn-C) and the fibronectin isoform containing EDB (EDB-fn) are involved in matrix remodeling during malignant transformation in oral carcinoma.

Materials And Methods: Expression of L5gamma2, Tn-C and EDB-fn was analysed in brush biopsy-obtained cells of benign inflammatory or hyperproliferative lesions and primary oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) using the Roche LightCycler 2.

Cytogenetic characterisation and proteomic profiling of the Imatinib-resistant cell line KCL22-R.

Approximately 30% of chronic myeloid leukemia patients show initially no response to Imatinib, a potent inhibitor of BCR-ABL. This intrinsic resistance may be due to BCR-ABL-independent cell growth. Here we analysed the cytogenetic anomalies and the proteomic profiling in KCL22-S and KCL22-R, two Imatinib-sensitive and -resistant derivative cell lines of KCL22.

Identification of CD70 as a diagnostic biomarker for clear cell renal cell carcinoma by gene expression profiling, real-time RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry.

The underlying molecular mechanisms of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) are poorly understood and more reliable markers for early diagnosis are needed.
