The neural basis of tactile processing in humans has been extensively studied; however, the neurophysiological basis of human width discrimination remains relatively unexplored. In particular, the changes that occur in neural networks underlying active tactile width discrimination learning have yet to be described. Here, it is hypothesized that subjects learning to perform the active version of the width discrimination task would present changes in behavioral data and in the neurophysiological activity, specifically in networks of electrodes relevant for tactile and motor processing.

Brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) that integrate virtual reality with tactile feedback are increasingly relevant for neurorehabilitation in spinal cord injury (SCI). In our previous case study employing a BCI-based virtual reality neurorehabilitation protocol, a patient with complete T4 SCI experienced reduced pain and emergence of non-spastic lower limb movements after 10 sessions. A sedentary lifestyle, inadequate diet, and obesity are substantial risk factors for Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) development. Current evidence suggests that the hysterosalpingo-foam sonography test (HyFoSy) has emerged as a new option to make Fallopian tube assessment easier. Several published studies have compared the different types of tubal patency test available with the accepted gold standard, laparoscopy and dye, endorsing the advantages of HyFoSy over the other techniques. Introduction: This student-driven curriculum intervention, implemented with first-year medical students, was guided by the Association of American Medical Colleges' standards for medical education on health care for sexual and gender minorities. Its goals are to describe the spectrum of sexual orientation and gender identity and sensitively and effectively elicit relevant information from patients about their sexual orientation and gender identity through inclusive sexual history taking.

Methods: Developed through student-faculty collaboration, this three-part module includes a 14-minute e-lecture on taking an inclusive sexual history, a 35-minute formative standardized patient encounter in which students take a sexual history and receive feedback, and a 20-minute facilitated group debrief on the standardized patient activity.
