Objective: identify the clinical and pathological characteristics of esophageal cancer at Hospital Nacional Edgardo Rebagliati Martins (EsSALUD), in Lima (Peru).

Materials And Methods: review of hospital charts of patients with histological diagnosis of esophageal cancer from 2001 to 2006.

[Giant gastric ulcer by cytomegalovirus in infection VIH/SIDA].

Cytomegalovirus infection is an important cause of morbidity in immunosupressed patients with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). In this paper we present a 43 years old man with renal failure under hemodialysis, several blood transfusions because of anemia and three months of disease characterized by epigastric pain, specially at nights, ameliorated with antacid drugs. Other symptoms were early satisfy, vomits and weigh loss (18Kg).

[Intermittent rectorrhagia due to diffuse hemangioma of the rectum].

Diffuse hemangioma of the rectum is a rare benign vascular lesion. The case of a 30 year-old male with intermittent rectal bleeding with an evolution of 2 years and symptoms related to chronic ferropenic anemia is presented. The rectal endoscopy was interpreted as a malignant neoplastic epithelial lesion spread throughout the rectum.

[Fibroepithelial lesions of the anal canal: therapeutic technique with rubber band ligation].

When fibroepithelial lesions of the anal canal increase in size and bleed, they can produce tenesmus and a sensation of a foreign body in the anus. Generally, these lesions are surgically excised. We present an original non-surgical technique using rubber band ligation.
