SARS-CoV-2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2) is primarily transmitted by airborne droplets and its spread is favored by close human contact, thus the COVID-19 pandemic is the new challenge in dental practice. The oral cavity was considered as a SARS-CoV-2 reservoir, the viruses were detected in the saliva and periodontal pockets of infected persons. Therefore, aside from the most common symptoms, COVID-19 can manifest as lesions in the oral cavity.
