Peripheral nerve injuries (PNIs) are debilitating injuries that are also challenging to treat. With several different techniques being investigated to optimize nerve regeneration, we performed this systematic review aiming to evaluate and synthesize the available peer-reviewed literature regarding PNIs and the research that has been done to optimize peripheral nerve regeneration. Two research databases were searched, and abstracts were reviewed for relevance.

In this retrospective study, we examined 75 patients who underwent OAT for large (≥2 cm) grade IV cartilage defects in the femoral condyle. Patient variables evaluated included the following: smoking, workers compensation, body mass index (BMI), pre-injury activity level, number, and the type of co-morbidities in the operated knee, lesion location and number of grafts placed.

Adult animal and adult clinical studies demonstrate conflicting evidence for the inhibitory relationship between NSAIDs and fracture healing. Published pediatric orthopaedic clinical studies do not demonstrate an inhibitory effect of ketorolac on bone healing.
