The value chain analyses of a product can provide vital information for improving the production, value addition, market organization and boost the contribution of the product to the income of the stakeholders involved. Hence, this study was carried out on the value chain in Belabo, Cameroon. Twenty-three focus group discussions were held, and semi-structured surveys were administered to 135 stakeholders engaged in the value chain in the Belabo municipality.

On the one hand, the optical satellite imagery is suitable for wall-to-wall coverage, but the AGB estimates based on such imagery lack precision for local or stand-level sustainable forest management and international reporting mechanisms. On the other hand, the AGB estimates based on airborne lidar and UAS imagery have the precision required for sustainable forest management at a local level and international reporting requirements but lack capacity for wall-to-wall coverage.

The design of appropriate adaptation strategies to the impacts of climate change requires a contextual study of local perceptions due to the non-homogeneity of climate in a given agro-ecological area. The research objective of the current study aims to examine the evolution of climate parameters from 1983 to 2019 linked to the perceptions of local populations and appropriate adaptation measures in the Belabo-Diang Communal Forest of Cameroon. The methodological approach includes collecting and analyze climate data from 1983 to 2019; and surveying existing local perceptions and adaptive strategies among 540 households using semi-structured questionnaires.
