Background: Prostate-specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PSMAPET/CT) is a new and evolving diagnostic method in prostate cancer with special impact on treatment planning in image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT). Initial results of metabolic response in repeated PSMA PET/CTs after hypofractionated IGRT for metastatic lesions are reported here.
Materials And Methods: Of 280 patients investigated with Ga-PSMA PET/CT in the period from 01/2014 through 12/2016 in the authors' department, patients were selected according to the following criteria: oligometastatic disease at initial PSMA PET/CT defined as not more than five metastatic lesions, hypofractionated IGRT to all lesions, no systemic therapy in the last 6 months and during follow-up, and at least one follow-up PSMA PET after radiotherapy.
Background: For prostate cancer treatment, treatment options with minimal side effects are desired. External beam radiation therapy (EBRT) is non-invasive, standard of care and delivered in either conventional fractionation over 8 weeks or with moderate hypo-fractionation over about 5 weeks. Recent advances in radiotherapy technology have made extreme hypo-fractionated stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) of prostate cancer feasible, which has not yet been introduced as a standard treatment method in Germany.

We report the case of a 38-year-old man who was implanted a subcutaneous implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (S-ICD) and then performed a skydive from a height of 3000 m. The objective of this animal model was to examine as to whether non-invasive lung function measurements (LFM) could be used to analyze the magnitude of the irradiation-related pneumonitis and its long-term sequel occurring in the right lung in the presence of a normal left lung. Four months after irradiation, the OH-pro content in the irradiated right lung was determined and compared with the non-irradiated contralateral left lung, as well as lungs from non-irradiated sham controls.
