Curcumin is a hydrophobic polyphenolic compound with potent anti-inflammatory properties. However, whether it can achieve therapeutic effects by alleviating neuroinflammation in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) and its potential mechanism are still unknown. This study explored the effects of curcumin on neuroinflammation in dopaminergic neurons and deciphered its direct target in the histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6)-Nucleotide-binding domain, leucine-rich repeat, and pyrin domain-containing protein 3 (NLRP3) pathway, revealing the potential role of curcumin in the treatment of Parkinson's disease.

Based on a poroshell column, a favorable chromatographic separation of seventeen amino acids was achieved in approximately 10 min with satisfactory resolution. The LOD and LOQ of this method were less than 0.

However, seldom longitudinal investigations have evaluated their roles in lung cancer development. We aimed to investigate the associations between multiple essential metals and lung cancer incidence and to explore the potential mechanisms.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Tl and its interaction with smoking on lung function decline, and explore the potential mechanisms.
Methods: The baseline and follow-up lung functions were measured from a prospective cohort study of 1243 workers, who were followed from 2010 to 2014.
Cervical cancer is a common gynecological malignancy with high incidence and mortality. Drugs commonly used in chemotherapy are often accompanied by strong side-effects. To find an anti-cervical cancer drug with high effects and low toxicity, luteoloside was used to treat the cervical cancer cell line Hela to investigate its effects on cell morphology, proliferation, apoptosis, and related proteins.

Methods: We performed a prospective investigation involving 1243 workers with follow-up periods from 2010 to 2014. Their lung function measurements, including forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1), the percentage of predicted FVC (FVC%) and FEV1 (FEV1%), FEV1/FVC ratio, and forced expiratory flow between 25% and 75% of vital capacity (FEF25-75), were detected in both baseline (2010) and follow-up study (2014).
