Insect vectors transmit many plant viruses of agricultural importance. In most cases, these viruses manipulate their vectors' behavior and movement leading to vector settling and feeding preferences that influence virus spread. The latent period within the insect vector is also crucial in virus transmission during vector feeding, however is assumed to be negligible in previous studies.

The transanal approach enables a better approach in male and obese patients and/or those with a narrow pelvis and in patients with small tumors. Short-term results are comparable with those for laparoscopy or the open approach, but the medium- and long-term oncological data are sparse.

This study aimed to contribute to the limited epidemiological data on as well as and in large ruminants in the Philippines. Blood samples of 412 cattle and 108 water buffalo collected from four provinces in Southern Luzon, Philippines, were initially tested for the gene of piroplasms through nested PCR.

The aim of this study was assess postoperative complications and their short-term consequences in colon cancer surgery according to age.
Patients And Methods: Patients undergoing surgery for primary invasive colon cancer in 22 centers between June 2010 and December 2012 were included.
Background: The aim of this study was to assess factors associated with outcomes after surgery for colorectal cancer and to design and internally validate a simple score for predicting perioperative mortality.
Methods: Patients undergoing surgery for primary invasive colorectal cancer in 22 centres in Spain between June 2010 and December 2012 were included. Clinical variables up to 30 days were collected prospectively.
Background: To validate and recalibrate the CR- POSSUM model and compared its discriminatory capacity with other European models such as POSSUM, P-POSSUM, AFC or IRCS to predict operative mortality in surgery for colorectal cancer.
Methods: Prospective multicenter cohort study from 22 hospitals in Spain. We included patients undergoing planned or urgent surgery for primary invasive colorectal cancers between June 2010 and December 2012 (N = 2749).
Transplant Proc
October 2006
In July 1999 we began a liver transplant program that to October 2005 has included 100 liver transplants in 92 patients, eight retransplants, and two combined liver and kidney grafts. Twelve transplants were in pediatric patients, who showed a 92% survival rate in the first year. Fifty-four percent of the patients were male and 46% female.

April 2005
From July 4, 1999, when a liver transplantation program was started in Cuba, to October 2003, 66 procedures had been performed in 60 patients. The most frequent reason was cirrhosis caused by hepatitis C virus (29%), and alcoholic cirrhosis (22%). Two patients received simultaneous liver-kidney transplants.

This organization, which changed the transplantation-donation process not only in our center but in the whole country, is described in this article.
Method: The files of donors generated in our hospital were studied together with the transplant coordination records, from 1999 till the first half of 2002.
Thirteen C(6) para-substituted anilinebenzoquinones derived from perezone (PZ) (2-(1,5-dimethyl-4-hexenyl)-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-1,4-benzoquinone) were prepared to analyze the effect of the substituents on quinone electronic properties. The effect of a hydrogen bond between the alpha-hydroxy and carbonyl C(4)-O(4) groups was determined in perezone derivatives by substituting electron-donor and electron-acceptor groups such as -OMe, -Me, -Br, and -CN and comparing the -OH (APZs) and -OMe (APZms) derivatives. Reduction potentials of these compounds were measured using cyclic voltammetry in anhydrous acetonitrile.

The determination of the EDCAE is computationally accessible through the application of the natural bond orbital analysis (NBO). This type of analysis allows the comparison of hypothetical molecules lacking electronic delocalization (Lewis molecules, in which the electrons are strictly located in bonds and lone pairs) with the fully delocalized molecules retaining the same geometry and the evaluation of the anomeric effect in terms of eq 3.

Patients And Methods: A total of 1,235 consecutive LCs performed between 1991 and 1997 were studied prospectively. ERCP was performed to explore the common bile duct (CBD) preoperatively when choledocholithiasis was suspected on the basis of clinical, analytical or echographical data.
Introduction: Retroperitoneal liposarcomas are unusual tumors. Their biological and clinical features different from other retroperitoneal sarcomas.
Aim: To analyze our series of retroperitoneal liposarcomas.
We report a case of anterior inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery aneurysm fissured to the duodenum, which obliged to an emergency operation. This is an infrequent cause of upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Diagnosis, therapeutic options and prognosis of this pathology are discussed.

Presentation of a malignant rhabdoid renal tumour. This type of sarcoma which occurs commonly during the paediatric age is exceptional in the adult, this being the reason for reviewing this clinical case and its management. The term rhabdoid includes several types of morphologically similar tumours which make analysis and pathological categorization difficult.
