A three-dimensional heterobimetallic porous structure with the formula {[YTbL(OH)(HO) (DMF)] ·1.5HO·DMF} (L = 3-amino-4-hydroxybenzoate) () has been synthesized and characterized by single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDX), inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), electrophoretic mobility, and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. The structure presents two metal environments: a bioaugmented isosceles wedge (mm2) MO and a tricapped trigonal prism (-6m2) MNO.

In this study, we investigated the role of iron and siderophores during the predatory interaction between two rhizosphere bacteria: Myxococcus xanthus, an epibiotic predator, and Sinorhizobium meliloti, a bacterium that establishes nitrogen-fixing symbiosis with legumes. The results show that iron enhances the motility of the predator and facilitates its predatory capability, and that intoxication by iron is not used by the predator to prey, although oxidative stress increases in both bacteria during predation.

The structural characterization reveals that this material consists of a robust three-dimensional metal-organic framework (MOF) grown with clusters formed by Y(iii) and hydroxide anions joined to one another by the ligand, giving rise to an open structure with interconnected microchannels with variable dimensions. This assembled set has shown to possess a fascinating catalytic activity for the cyanosilylation of a broad range of aldehydes and ketones with exceptional recyclability, a solvent-free medium, and one order of magnitude lower catalyst loading compared to all related lanthanide-based MOFs described so far in the literature.

Two-step dearomative functionalization of naphthols promoted by Lewis acids and copper(I) catalysis was developed. Initially, Lewis acid complexation inverted the electronic properties of the ring and established an equilibrium with the dearomatized counterpart. These air-stable catalysts led to very good results in both cases and the expected triazoles could be isolated in pure form under 'Click-suitable' conditions.
