Azo dyes have been found in wastewater from textile industries. These compounds continuously persist in the environment for long periods of time and may be toxic for living beings. An alternative treatment for dye removal that has proven to be effective is aerobic treatment with fungi.

Effect of fungal co-cultures on ligninolytic enzyme activities, HO production, and orange G discoloration.
