Objective: Real-world evidence on the adoption of different pharmacological strategies in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in Latin America is scarce. Herein, we describe real-world sociodemographic, clinical characteristics, and different therapeutic approaches used in patients with IBD in Argentina.
Methods: RISE AR (NCT03488030) was a multicenter, non-interventional study with a cross-sectional evaluation and a 3-year retrospective chart review conducted in Argentina.
Background: Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) is associated with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D). Probiotics like Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I-745 (Sb) may be efficacious in balancing the microbiota. This randomized open label study assessed the effect of Sb in patients with bacterial overgrowth associated with IBS-D and its impact on the intestinal microbiota.

A non-neglectable proportion of these patients will need biologic therapy, and many patients under biologic treatment will experience either primary or secondary failure. As a consequence, clinical trials evaluating new therapeutic alternatives are being developed.

Objective: To determine the efficacy and safety of intestinal secretagogues for the treatment of chronic constipation and constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome.
Context: Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder of the small intestine associated with several extra-intestinal features, such as reproductive disorders. The relationship between celiac disease and infertility has been previously assessed, with conflicting results.
Objectives: We seek to determine the relationship between celiac disease and infertility.
Background And Aims: The association of celiac disease with colorectal neoplasia is controversial. The aim of this study was to determine the risk of colorectal neoplasia among patients with celiac disease.
Methods: We carried out a multicenter, retrospective case-control study, within four community hospitals.
