Phosphogypsum (PG) is a solid by-product of the phosphate industry, rich in contaminants and produced in large quantities. Raw materials and stabilized specimens, consisting of bentonite-lime-PG mixtures, were characterized by mineralogical, microstructural, chemical, alpha-particle, and gamma-ray spectrometry analysis before hydration and after hardening. Compressive strength and leaching tests were performed on hardened specimens.

Generally, solid-liquid equilibria are frequently applied in chemical industries. They are a valuable aid in visualizing the precipitation, separation, and purification of a solid phase and the pathways by which crystallization can occur.

For this purpose, the availability of reliable and efficient analytical diagnostic tools suitable to specifically detect and quantify these essential QS small molecules and QS regulated virulence factors is crucial. Here, we reported the development and evaluation of antibodies and an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for HQNO (2-heptyl-4-quinoline N-oxide), a QS product of the PqsR system, which has been found to act as a major virulence factor that interferes with the growth of other microorganisms.

This work is focused on the manufacture of commercial cement using as additive ilmenite mud, a waste generated during TiO pigment production. The cements were produced by adding different proportions of mud (2.5, 5 and 10 wt%) to ordinary Portland cement (OPC).

The Physical Activity Questionnaire for Children (PAQ-C) has been used widely to assess PA in healthy school populations. The aim of this study was to evaluate the reliability and validity of the PAQ-C questionnaire in Spanish children using triaxial accelerometry as criterion.

A number of proteins around 97 kDa cross-reacted with several anti-actin and anti-myosin antibodies and these were used to follow their purification through gel filtration, hydroxyapatite and anion exchange columns. The 97-kDa cross-reactive material eluted in the unbound fractions of the last anion exchange column, and displayed two components of pI's 6.
