Methods To collect the personal experiences of physicians' mailboxes on predatory publishing, a Google Form® survey was designed and disseminated from September 2021 to April 2022.

Objectives: The objective of this study is to collect a 30-day mortality and morbidity of primary BMS combined with cholecystectomy, ventral hernia repair, or hiatal hernia repair.

Setting: This is as an international, multicenter, prospective, and observational audit of patients undergoing primary BMS combined with one or more additional procedures.

Shoulder problems after percutaneous antegrade intramedullary nailing in humeral diaphyseal fractures using contemporary straight third-generation nail.

Background: Antegrade intramedullary nailing in humeral shaft fracture has been abandoned by certain orthopedic surgeons because of rotator cuff injury caused by first- and second-generation intramedullary nails (IMNs). However, only a few studies have specifically addressed the results of antegrade nailing for the treatment of humeral shaft fractures with a straight third-generation IMN; thus, complications need to be re-evaluated. We hypothesized that fixation of displaced humeral shaft fractures with a straight third-generation antegrade IMN with the percutaneous technique avoid shoulder problems (stiffness and pain) incurred by first- and second-generation IMNs.

The use of the T-tube in biliary tract reconstruction during orthotopic liver transplantation: An umbrella review.

Biliary complications are one of the main concerns after liver transplantation, and to avoid these, the use of a T-tube has been advocated in biliary reconstruction. Most liver transplantation centres perform a biliary anastomosis without a T-tube to avoid the risk of complications and T-tube-related costs. Several meta-analyses have reached discordant conclusions regarding the benefits of using the T-tube.

Introduction: Bariatric Surgery (BS) represents a viable option for the treatment of obesity and its risks. Nevertheless, it is still being underused by the eligible patient population because of the general lack of information, false beliefs, and the stigmatization of obesity. Social media seems to be a solution for overcoming this problem.

Mental health in patients with asthma: A population-based case-control study.

Background: This study's objectives were to compare the prevalence of mental disorders and consumption of psychiatric medications in asthmatic subjects with non-asthmatic controls and identify risk factors associated with psychiatric conditions.

Methods: This was an epidemiological case-control study based on the 2020 European Health Survey in Spain self-reported data. Each asthmatic subject was paired with a non-asthmatic control.

ART Outcomes After Hysteroscopic Proximal Tubal Occlusion Versus Laparoscopic Salpingectomy for Hydrosalpinx Management in Endometriosis Patients.

The objective of this paper is to compare assisted reproductive technology (ART) cumulative live birth rates after hysteroscopic proximal tubal occlusion and laparoscopic salpingectomy in endometriosis patients, for management of hydrosalpinx. This is an observational cohort study at a university hospital, including all endometriosis patients with hydrosalpinges undergoing ART, between January 2013 and December 2018. The patients underwent either laparoscopic salpingectomy or hysteroscopic proximal tubal occlusion with Essure® when laparoscopy was not an option (extensive pelvic adhesions at exploratory laparoscopy or a history of multiple abdominal surgeries with frozen pelvis).

Background & Aims: There are uncertainties regarding the burden of liver disease in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D). Thus, we aimed to quantify the burden of liver disease, identify risk factors, and estimate attributable risks in patients with T2D.

Methods: We measured adjusted hazard ratios of liver disease progression to hepatocellular carcinoma and/or decompensated cirrhosis in a 2010-2020 retrospective, bicentric, longitudinal, cohort of 52,066 hospitalized patients with T2D.
