Introduction And Objective: Tonsillectomy performed on an outpatient basis in adult patients presents bleeding and pain as main postoperative complications. Following rules such as cold surgical technique, analgesic protocols, preoperative interview, and postoperative follow-up help to better control the process. However, there are patient-dependent factors such as sex, age, indication for tonsillectomy and the time elapsed between the last tonsil infection and surgical intervention that can influence postoperative complications and should be considered.

However, the correct discrimination of follicular neoplasia often requires more invasive diagnostic techniques. The lack of suitable immunohistochemical markers to distinguish between follicular thyroid carcinoma and other types of follicular-derived lesions complicates diagnosis, and despite most of these tumours being surgically resected, only a small number will test positive for malignancy.

Introduction: Inverted papillomas are benign sinonasal lesions that arise primarily from the lateral nasal wall which are characterized by their tendency to recur and propensity to be associated with malignancy. The aim of this work is to analyze our experience in the treatment of these lesions, especially through the endoscopic approach.
Material And Method: We present 61 cases of sinonasal inverted papillomas that were treated at our hospital since 1983.
Introduction: Mucosal melanomas (MM) represent 1.3 % of all melanomas; 55 % of them are located in the head and neck region mainly in the sinonasal and oropharyngeal cavity. Sinonasal mucosal melanomas have a high rate of local recurrence and a high risk of developing metastases, two reasons explaining the low survival rate.

It is unusual for sphenoidal sinusitis to co-exist with acute optic neuritis, so the simultaneous appearance of both diseases would invite aetiological suspicion. We present two cases where the first clinical manifestation of infectious sphenoidal pathology was retrobulbar optic neuritis, which reverted with treatment, medical in one case and surgical in the other, of the sinusitis.

We treated a 48-year-old man with a giant cell tumor of the infratemporal fossa. He presented with a right-side hearing loss and facial pain.

Objective: Over-expression of annexin A2 (ANXA2) has been reported in various cancers. However, no data are available on the expression of this protein in head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCC). The objective of this preliminary study is to investigate the expression of ANXA2 in these carcinomas.

PGL are usually clinically benign tumours, although metastasis has been reported and invasive growth can occur in adjacent tissues (<10 %). Mutations in SDHB, SDHC, and SDHD, which encode sub-units of mitochondrial complex II (succinate dehydrogenase), play an important role in the pathogenesis of these tumours.
