Objectives: Mortality due to acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a major global health problem. Knowledge of epidemiological data on ARDS is crucial to design management, treatment strategies, and optimize resources. Our aim was to describe clinical features, epidemiology, and outcomes of subjects admitted to SWCs in Argentina.
Methods: We conducted a prospective, multi-center, observational study between July 2020-December 2021 in 12 SWCs.
Objective: A novel coronavirus emerged this year as a cause of viral pneumonia. The main characteristics of the virus are rapid transmission, high contagion capacity and potential severity. The objective of this case series study is to describe the clinical characteristics of patients with confirmed coronavirus disease (COVID-19) admitted to different intensive care units in Argentina for mechanical ventilation.
