Purpose: Association between S. gallolyticus infective endocarditis (IE) and malignant lesions of the gastrointestinal tract is well described. We hypothesize that other enteropathogenic microorganisms, such as S.

Vaccine-associated hypermetabolic lymphadenopathy (VAHL) has been reported as a common post-vaccination side effect, especially with mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines. Most VAHL cases present normal or enlarged regional lymph nodes close to the injection site, usually with mild-moderate FDG (18 F-Fluorodeoxyglucose) uptake on FDG positron emission tomography (PET)/CT. Here, we describe the case of a 33-year-old woman with past history of Classic Hodgkin Lymphoma (CHL) who underwent follow-up FDG PET/CT 3 days (d) after the first dose of the adenovirus-vectored Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.

Background: Bile acid malabsorption occurs in up to one third of patients with chronic diarrhoea of functional characteristics. The gold standard test for its diagnosis is the Selenium homocholic acid taurine (SeHCAT) test. The aim of this work is to confirm previous data suggesting that bile acid malabsorption, diagnosed by Se-HCAT test, is the underlying cause of diarrhoea in a significant proportion of patients previously diagnosed with a functional disorder.

Background: Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease, but data on arterial inflammation at early stages is limited.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to characterize vascular inflammation by hybrid F-fluorodeoxyglucose (F-FDG) positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance imaging (PET/MRI).

Methods: Carotid, aortic, and ilio-femoral F-FDG PET/MRI was performed in 755 individuals (age 40 to 54 years; 83.

Background: Data are limited on the presence, distribution, and extent of subclinical atherosclerosis in middle-aged populations.

Methods And Results: The PESA (Progression of Early Subclinical Atherosclerosis) study prospectively enrolled 4184 asymptomatic participants 40 to 54 years of age (mean age, 45.8 years; 63% male) to evaluate the systemic extent of atherosclerosis in the carotid, abdominal aortic, and iliofemoral territories by 2-/3-dimensional ultrasound and coronary artery calcification by computed tomography.

Objective: To evaluate (18)F-fluorocholine positron-emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) in restaging patients with a history of prostate adenocarcinoma who have biochemical relapse after early radical treatment, and to correlate the technique's disease detection rate with a set of variables and clinical and pathological parameters.

Patients And Methods: This was a retrospective multicentre study that included 374 patients referred for choline-PET/CT who had biochemical relapse. In all, 233 patients who met the following inclusion criteria were analysed: diagnosis of prostate cancer; early radical treatment; biochemical relapse; main clinical and pathological variables; and clinical, pathological and imaging data needed to validate the results.

Aims: Adipose-derived regenerative cells (ADRCs) can be isolated from liposuction aspirates and prepared as fresh cells for immediate administration in cell therapy. We performed the first randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind trial to examine the safety and feasibility of the transendocardial injections of ADRCs in no-option patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy.

Methods And Results: Procedural, postoperative, and follow-up safety end points were monitored up to 36 months.

Background: The presence of subclinical atherosclerosis is a likely predictor of cardiovascular events; however, factors associated with the early stages and progression of atherosclerosis are poorly defined.

Objective: The PESA study examines the presence of subclinical atherosclerosis by means of noninvasive imaging and prospectively analyzes the determinants associated with its development and progression in a middle-aged population.

Methods: The PESA study is an observational, longitudinal and prospective cohort study in a target population of 4000 healthy subjects (40-54 years old, 35% women) based in Madrid (Spain).

Incidences of osteoporosis and fragility fractures are constantly increasing, which are associated with increased morbidity and mortality. When these patients undergo surgery, a higher number of postoperative complications may be expected because of poor bone quality and delayed healing. As a result, poorer primary stability of the implant, initial loosening, and impaired fixation strength in different regions may be seen.

In this article, we present a rare case of B-cell bone lymphoma in a child with multifocal asymptomatic lesions detected by bone scintigraphy and a chronic clinical history characterized by limping and fever episodes for over a year. Initially, multifocal osteomyelitis was suspected and antibiotic therapy was administered with no clinical improvement. The biopsy of the main lesion in the left distal femur along with bone marrow cytology established the final diagnosis.
