The study examined the impact of Poria cocos polysaccharides (PCP) on heart cell death in rats with induced ischemia-reperfusion injury.
Rats were divided into several groups, with different treatments, and underwent surgical procedures to create a heart injury model to test the effects of PCP and another drug, fasudil.
Results showed that PCP significantly reduced heart damage and cell death compared to the untreated model group, indicating its potential protective mechanisms against myocardial injury.
