Indigo Blue (IB) is a dye widely used by the textile sector for dyeing cellulose cotton fibers and jeans, being considered a recalcitrant substance, and therefore resistant to traditional treatments. Several methodologies are reported in the literature for the removal or degradation of dyes from the aqueous medium, among which photoelectrocatalysis stands out, which presents promising results in the degradation of dyes when a dimensionally stable anode (DSA) is used as a photoanode. In the present work, we sought to investigate the efficiency of a Ti/RuO-TiO DSA modified with tin and tantalum for the degradation of Indigo Blue dye by photoelectrocatalysis.

In this study, square wave anodic stripping voltammetry using two different types of electrodes (carbon nanotube electrode and graphite electrode) was combined with chemometric methods - partial least squares (PLS) and artificial neural networks (ANN) for determining copper, zinc, cadmium and lead in cachaça. The objectives were comparison of methods developed and the verification of the quality of artisanal cachaças in terms of metal content. For the development of the methodology, inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP OES) was used as reference technique.

The efficiency of the electrocoagulation method to remove boron from synthetic and mining effluents was investigated in this study. Different parameters were tested using boric acid solution and effluent collected from a mining company located in the city of Vitória-ES. The results showed a percentage of boron removal of over 60% for the synthetic and mining effluents, using aluminum electrodes, pH 7.

This paper is consisted in the synthesis of platinum-based electrocatalysts supported on carbon (Vulcan XC-72) and investigation of the addition of gallium in their physicochemical and electrochemical properties toward ethanol oxidation reaction (EOR). PtGa/C electrocatalysts were prepared through thermal decomposition of polymeric precursor method at a temperature of 350°C. Six different compositions were homemade: PtGa/C, PtGa/C, PtGa/C, PtGa/C, PtGa/C, and Pt/C.
