Effect of Microsurgical Varicocele Repair on Sperm Capacitation and Probability of Generating a Pregnancy as Measured by Pre and Postoperative Novel Testing With Cap-Score.

Objective: To study whether varicocele repair would improve sperm capacitation and probability of generating a pregnancy.

Methods: Data were collected prospectively from 40 consecutive adult men who presented with infertility confirmed by semen analysis (SA) and found to have a varicocele on exam or ultrasound who underwent unilateral or bilateral subinguinal microscopic varicocelectomy. We recorded pre and postoperative SA, Cap-Score, and probability of generating a pregnancy (PGP) with a 3-month follow-up.

Selective Serotonin Re-Uptake Inhibitors for Premature Ejaculation in Adult Men: A Cochrane Systematic Review.

Purpose: Selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are frequently used to treat premature ejaculation (PE) in men. We performed a Cochrane review to assess the efficacy of SSRI treatment for PE.

Materials And Methods: We extensively searched a range of databases up to May 2020 and only included randomized controlled trials.

Background: Despite efforts to preserve the neurovascular bundles with nerve-sparing surgery, erectile dysfunction remains common following radical prostatectomy. Postoperative penile rehabilitation seeks to restore erectile function but results have been conflicting.

Objectives: To evaluate the effects of penile rehabilitation strategies in restoring erectile function following radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer.

The use of transscrotal venography to guide treatment of a persistent grade 3 varicocele after failure of previous microsurgical varicocelectomy and embolization.

Varicoceles affect approximately 15% of male patients, most of whom have resolution of symptoms and objective findings with microscopic subinguinal varicocelectomy. We present an interesting case of a 16-year-old male patient with persistent symptomatic varicocele despite varicocelectomy and gonadal vein embolization.
