Heparanase is an endo-beta D-glucuronidase capable of cleaving heparan sulfate side chains, yielding heparan sulfate fragments. Heparanase activity has been correlated with the metastatic potential of tumor-derived cells, angiogenesis, autoimmunity and inflammation.
