Placental Malaria and Its Relationship with Neonatal Birth Weight among Primigravidae: An Analytical Cross-sectional Study.

Background And Objectives: Malaria can be fatal during pregnancy, posing a serious risk to both mothers and fetuses, especially in sub-Saharan Africa. Primigravidae are particularly susceptible to placental malaria in areas with high rates of transmission due to insufficient immunity. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of placental malaria infection, risk factors, types of Plasmodium causing malaria during pregnancy, and its relationship with neonatal birth weight among primigravidae.

Acceptability rate and barriers to COVID-19 vaccination among healthcare workers in Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku-Awka, Nigeria.

Background: Healthcare workers were at the forefront of the COVID-19 pandemic. The acceptability and uptake of COVID-19 vaccines among healthcare workers was an important strategy in halting the spread of the virus as well as the antecedent implications on global health and the world economy.

Objectives: This study aims to determine the acceptability rate and barriers to COVID-19 vaccination of frontline healthcare workers in Awka, Nigeria.

Emerging Predictors of Obstructed Labour in a Single Nigerian Centre Population of a Low Resource Setting.

Background And Objective: Despite the stigma attached to obstructed labour in Nigeria, it has remained largely uninvestigated. Study determined the prevalence, emerging predictors, management modalities and complications of obstructed labour, compare them with cases without obstructed labour who delivered within the same period.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective study and case-controlled analysis of obstructed labour managed at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, South-East, Nigeria were undertaken.

Management options for vulvar carcinoma in a low resource setting.

Background: Vulvar carcinoma is a rare tumor of the female genital tract. In Nigeria, very few studies have looked at the management options for vulvar carcinoma. The objective of this study was therefore, to describe the management options available and the challenges in treating this malignancy in Nigeria.
