Objective:: Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and hip dysplasia (HD) are frequently evaluated by isotropic CT (3DCT) for preoperative planning at the expense of radiation. The aim was to determine if isotropic MRI (3DMR) imaging can provide similar quantitative and qualitative morphological information as 3DCT.

Methods:: 25 consecutive patients with a final diagnosis of FAI or HD were retrospectively selected from December 2016-December 2017.

Three dimensional (3D) printing can be used to create material models to aid preoperative planning of complex orthopedic procedures as exemplified by this case of total hip arthroplasty failure due to infection with resulting severe acetabular bone stock deficiency. The 3D model allowed for trialing of the acetabular component to determine cup size, position, and screw placement. Most importantly, the model confirmed that there was not a pelvic discontinuity and the revision shell would be sufficient for the reconstruction.

Systemic vasculopathies represent a wide spectrum of heterogeneous vascular disorders characterized by variable target vessel involvement, vascular abnormalities, and end organ damage. The revised 2012 Chapel Hill Consensus Conference scheme classifies systemic vasculitis syndromes into primary systemic, secondary systemic, single-vessel, and variable-vessel vasculitis categories with associated management implications. Multimodality imaging not only allows diagnosis, characterization, and localization of vascular abnormalities but also permits evaluation of natural history and complications, thus, facilitating optimal patient management.
