Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine the safety, efficacy, and applicability of percutaneous axillary artery (pAxA) access in patients requiring upper extremity large sheath access during complex aortic, cardiac, and peripheral endovascular procedures. We also take this opportunity to address the potential cost-benefits offered by pAxA access compared to open upper extremity access.
Methods: A total of 26 consecutive patients, between June 2018 and October 2020, underwent endovascular intervention, requiring upper extremity access (UEA).
Background: Gastroparesis is a complex and poorly understood disease. The literature is lacking with respect to the epidemiology of patient comorbidities and their effect on gastric emptying. We aimed to describe the most common comorbid conditions among patients with gastroparesis in an urban population and quantify the effect of these comorbidities on the severity of delayed gastric emptying (DGE).

Here we report on the temperature-dependent charge transport properties of a 2D cobalt 2,3,6,7,10,11-triphenylenehexathiolate framework. Variable temperature resistivity studies reveal a transition from a semiconducting to a metallic phase with decreasing temperature, which is unprecedented in MOFs.

Mechanistic studies indicated that a black precipitate, which formed upon treating [Co(bds)] with acid, as well as the one-electron reduced species, [Co(bds)], were viable catalytic intermediates. Methods: We conducted a retrospective study on patients with symptomatic PFC who underwent EUS-guided drainage using EC-LAMS without fluoroscopy.

Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) has become a mainstay in assisting in the diagnosis and staging of pancreatic cancer. In addition, EUS provides a modality to treat chronic pain through celiac plexus neurolysis. Currently, there is growing data and utilization of EUS in more diverse and innovative applications aimed at providing more sophisticated diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic options for patients with pancreatic cancer.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground And Aims: Endoscopic transmural drainage/debridement of pancreatic walled-off necrosis (WON) has been performed using double-pigtail plastic (DP), fully covered self-expanding metal stents (FCSEMSs), or the novel lumen-apposing fully covered self-expanding metal stent (LAMS). Our aim was to perform a retrospective cohort study to compare the clinical outcomes and adverse events of EUS-guided drainage/debridement of WON with DP stents, FCSEMSs, and LAMSs.
Methods: Consecutive patients in 2 centers with WON managed by EUS-guided debridement were divided into 3 groups: (1) those who underwent debridement using DP stents, (2) debridement using FCSEMSs, (3) debridement using LAMSs.
Hydrogen production through the reduction of water has emerged as an important strategy for the storage of renewable energy in chemical bonds. One attractive scenario for the construction of efficient devices for electrochemical splitting of water requires the attachment of stable and active hydrogen evolving catalysts to electrode surfaces, which remains a significant challenge. We demonstrate here the successful integration of cobalt dithiolene catalysts into a metal-organic surface to generate very active electrocatalytic cathode materials for hydrogen generation from water.
