T cell activation requires T cell receptor (TCR) engagement, which initiates a series of proximal events including tyrosine phosphorylation of the CD3 and TCRζ chains, recruitment, and activation of the protein tyrosine kinases Lck and ZAP70, followed by recruitment of adapter and signaling proteins. CD28 co-stimulation is also required to generate a functional immune response. Currently we lack a full understanding of the molecular mechanism of CD28 activation.

Our rapid review evaluated the literature specific to rapid telehealth implementation during the current COVID-19 pandemic from three research databases between January 2020 and May 2020 and reported using preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA).

In this study, we have examined the role of ubiquitination in regulating LAT endocytosis, recycling, and degradation in resting and stimulated T cells. By tracking and comparing plasma membrane-labeled wild type and ubiquitination-resistant 2KR LAT, we find that ubiquitination promotes the degradation of surface LAT in T cells.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjectives: To test novel markers of acute coronary syndrome (ACS), monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP), myeloperoxidase (MPO), C-reactive protein (CRP), and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) in low-risk emergency department (ED) patients who were evaluated for ACS in a chest pain unit (CPU).
Methods: A convenience sample of 414 patients underwent CPU evaluation, including provocative testing, and were followed prospectively for 45 days for ACS, which was defined as death, myocardial infarction (MI), revascularization, or >60% coronary artery stenosis prompting new medical treatment, adjudicated by three blinded reviewers. Published diagnostic thresholds were used to calculate diagnostic indices for each marker and for the multimarker panel.
