Background: We assessed the biomechanical performances of a trochanteric lag screw construct and a traditional inverted triangle construct in the treatment of simulated Pauwels type 3 femoral neck fractures.
Methods: An inverted triangle construct (three 7.3-mm cannulated screws placed in inverted triangle orientation) and a trochanteric lag screw construct (two 7.
The purpose of this study was to compare the outcomes of manipulation under anesthesia (MUA) to arthrolysis for combat-related arthrofibrosis. Sixty-one knees in 56 patients who underwent treatment for arthrofibrosis secondary to lower extremity trauma were reviewed. Knee range of motion preoperatively, postoperatively, and at follow-up was analyzed.

Our hypothesis was that epidural anesthesia would result in improvement in short-term outcomes and therefore justify any associated increases in anesthesia induction time, treatment costs, or risks.
Design: Retrospective case-control.
Background: Preservation of optimal residual limb length following a traumatic amputation can be challenging. The purpose of this study was to determine if acceptable results can be achieved by definitive fixation of a long-bone fracture proximal to a traumatic amputation.
Methods: We identified thirty-seven active-duty military service members who underwent internal fixation of a long-bone fracture proximal to a traumatic amputation.
Background: Ankle sprains have a high incidence of associated injuries and conditions that may be unrecognized at the initial time of injury. Failure to treat these conditions at the index surgery may compromise outcomes and delay recovery. The purpose of this study was to determine the type and frequency of associated injuries and conditions in military patients with chronic lateral ankle instability.
