Study Design: This retrospective cohort study was conducted using a historical cohort of neonates referred for transportation between January 2017 and December 2021.
Objective: This study aimed to determine neurodevelopmental outcomes of preterm infants born at <29 weeks' gestational age (GA) with bronchopulmonary dysplasia and pulmonary hypertension (BPD-PH) at 18 to 24 months' corrected age (CA).
Study Design: In this retrospective cohort study, preterm infants born at <29 weeks' GA between January 2016 and December 2019, admitted to level 3 neonatal intensive care units, who developed BPD and were evaluated at 18 to 24 months' CA in the neonatal follow-up clinics were included. We compared demographic characteristics and neurodevelopmental outcomes between the two groups: Group I: BPD with PH and Group II: BPD with no PH, using univariate and multivariate regression models.
Background: High re-tear rates after repairing large-sized posterosuperior rotator cuff tears remain a significant concern which may affect the clinical outcome. The most optimal type of repair (single versus double-row suture bridge) suited for large size tear remains debatable.
Methods: In a retrospective cohort study with a minimum of five years follow up, the structural and functional outcome of 103 patients with large size cuff tear repaired with single row (SR) or double row suture bridge (DRSB) were evaluated.
Introduction: Current evidence is controversial about the outcomes after the repair of the delaminated versus nondelaminated rotator cuff tears. The objective of this study was to evaluate the factors affecting delamination of the cuff and clinical and structural outcomes after arthroscopic repair of delaminated versus nondelaminated cuff of varying sizes.
Materials And Methods: A total of 233 patients with full-thickness posterosuperior cuff tears were divided in two groups: Group 1: Delaminated tears ( = 131) and Group 2: Nondelaminated tears ( = 102) of medium, large, and massive sizes.
An infant, who was born preterm at 36 weeks, presented with fever and ulcer at umbilical region which progressed to necrotising fasciitis of anterior abdominal wall. He was treated with intravenous penicillin, intravenous cloxacillin and local application of medicated honey. Subsequently, he required wound debridement.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFDuring a retrospective study, we discovered unusual cardiac manifestations in seven of 21 hyperthyroid patients. Three patients had a transient apical systolic murmur, one had persistent cardiomegaly, and the remaining three had persistent apical systolic murmurs and cardiomegaly; mitral regurgitation and congestive heart failure developed in two of these three patients. Severe, persistent cardiac complications occurred only in patients who had prolonged hyperthyroidism caused by poor compliance with antithyroid drug treatment.
