Background: The 2010 revised Task Force criteria for the diagnosis of arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC) provided guidance for the classification of patients as definitive, borderline or possible ARVC. However, many patients with clinical suspicion for ARVC have isolated RV dyskinetic segments only and partly meet cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging criteria. This subgroup of patients and the implication of this imaging finding remain not well defined.

Article Synopsis
  • Computed tomography coronary angiography (CTCA) shows a higher negative predictive value (NPV) for diagnosing coronary artery disease (CAD) compared to stress echocardiography (SE), indicating it’s more reliable for ruling out the disease.
  • The study analyzed patients who underwent SE and CTCA, finding that a combination of normal SE and a zero calcium score (CTCS) achieved a 100% NPV for obstructive CAD and 92% for any CAD across different cohorts.
  • The results suggest that CTCS enhances risk assessment, particularly in low-risk patients, emphasizing its value in detecting and quantifying coronary artery calcification.

The sensitivity of a local Lebanese yogurt culture to different antibiotics was checked, using either a fresh or a freeze-dried culture. Laban fermentation was significantly affected by 0.005 IU of penicillin/ml, 1μg of streptomycin/ml, 1μg of dihydrostreptomycin/ml, 10 μg of chloramphenicol/ml and a level of oxytetracycline between 0.
