Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess the link between the rate of decline in estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and cardiovascular risks in hypertensive patients with eGFR above 60 ml/min.
  • A total of 2,516 patients were analyzed, with findings showing that a decline of -10% or more in eGFR per year significantly increased the risk of cardiovascular issues and death.
  • The results suggest that monitoring eGFR decline could help identify hypertensive patients at higher cardiovascular risk and may warrant more intensive management.
