Objective: The LungFlag risk prediction model uses individualized clinical variables to identify individuals at high-risk of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) for screening with low-dose computed tomography (LDCT). This study evaluates the cost-effectiveness of LungFlag implementation in the Spanish setting for the identification of individuals at high-risk of NSCLC.

Methods: A model combining a decision-tree with a Markov model was adapted to the Spanish setting to calculate health outcomes and costs over a lifetime horizon, comparing two hypothetical scenarios: screening with LungFlag versus non-screening, and screening with LungFlag versus screening the entire population meeting 2013 US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) criteria.

Background: To assess the cost-effectiveness of using next-generation sequencing (NGS) compared to sequential single-testing (SST) for molecular diagnostic and treatment of patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) from a Spanish single-center perspective, the Hospital Universitario Virgen del Rocio (HUVR).

Research Design And Methods: A decision-tree model was developed to assess the alterations detection alterations and diagnostic cost in patients with advanced NSCLC, comparing NGS versus SST. Model inputs such as testing, positivity rates, or treatment allocation were obtained from the literature and the clinical practice of HUVR experts through consultation.

Mid-infrared fiberoptics reflectance spectroscopy (mid-IR FORS) is a very interesting technique for artwork characterization purposes. However, the fact that the spectra obtained are a mixture of surface (specular) and volume (diffuse) reflection is a significant drawback. The physical and chemical features of the artwork surface may produce distortions in the spectra that hinder comparison with reference databases acquired in transmission mode.

MidIR fibre optic reflectance (MidIR-FORS) is a promising analytical technique in the field of science conservation, especially because it is non-destructive. Another advantage of MidIR-FORS is that the obtained information is representative, as a large amount of spectral data can be collected. Although the technique has a high potential and is almost routinely applied, its quality parameters have not been thoroughly studied in the specific application of analysis of artistic materials.

PRDM1/Blimp-1, a master regulator in terminal B-cell differentiation, has been recently identified as a tumor suppressor target for mutational inactivation in diffuse large B-cell lymphomas of the activated B-cell type. Our studies here demonstrate that PRDM1/blimp-1 is also a target for microRNA (miRNA)-mediated down-regulation by miR-9 and let-7a in Hodgkin/Reed-Sternberg (HRS) cells of Hodgkin lymphoma (HL). MiRNA expression profiling by direct miRNA cloning demonstrated that both of these miRNAs are among the most highly expressed in cultured HRS cells.

The positive regulatory domain I (PRDM1) is a master regulator of terminal B-cell differentiation. However, PRDM1 is not B-cell specific. To determine its role in T-cell lymphoma, PRDM1 expression was investigated in 60 patients.

Genetic immunization (GI), which is primarily used for vaccine purposes, is a method for producing antibodies to a protein by delivering the gene encoding the protein as a eukaryotic expression vector instead of the protein itself. The mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma translocation gene 1 (MALT1) is one of the most likely candidates for involvement in pathogenesis of MALT lymphoma and probably of multiple myelomas. In the present work we describe the production and characterization of a mouse monoclonal antibody (mAb) directed against MALT1 and the study of MALT1 protein expression in a large series of lymphomas and myeloma cell lines.

The positive regulatory domain I (PRDM1) is a master regulator in the differentiation of mature B lymphocytes to plasma cells. It has 2 isoforms, PRDM1alpha and PRDM1beta, and is regulated by the transcriptional regulator nuclear factor kappa (NF)-kappaB. PRDM1 protein expression was recently demonstrated in a subset of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) with aggressive behavior, a type of lymphoma for which rituximab associated with chemotherapy (R-CHOP) is now widely indicated.

The effect of neem, Azadirachta indica A. Juss, on some biological parameters of Mahanarva fimbriolata (Stil) (Hemiptera: Cercopidae) was studied in the laboratory by using NeemAzal-T/S, Nimkol-LS, and an aqueous neem seed extract. Initially, the LC,, was estimated for nymphs.

Background And Objectives: The positive regulatory domain I (PRDM1) protein or BLIMP-1, belonging to the PRDM gene family of transcriptional repressors, is a key regulator of terminal differentiation in B-lymphocytes and is critical for plasma cell differentiation.

Design And Methods: Here we document the expression of PRDM1 in normal and neoplastic lymphoid cells, through the use of a monoclonal antibody that recognizes the molecule in paraffin-embedded tissue sections. A large series of B and T-cell lymphomas (679 cases) was studied, using tissue microarrays.

Genetic immunization can be combined with hybridoma technology to generate high-affinity monoclonal antibodies (MAbs). A new anti-BCL-6 MAb (GI191E/A8) was produced by cloning full-length BCL-6 cDNA into a eukaryotic vector and delivering this into mouse epidermis using a helium gene gun. A comparative study was made of the specificity and the effects of formalin fixation on immunohistochemistry quality of GI191E/A8 and two other anti-BCL-6 MAbs.
