This study aimed to assess the effectiveness and safety of tocilizumab use for the treatment of active steroid-resistant Graves' orbitopathy (GO). A retrospective longitudinal study was conducted by reviewing the medical records at a single center between November 2009 and December 2018. A total of 114 patients with steroid-resistant Graves' orbitopathy were examined and treated with tocilizumab, of which 54 adults met the inclusion criteria.

Purpose: To assess the efficacy of Tocilizumab, a humanized monoclonal antibody against the interleukin-6 receptor, in thyroid eye disease patients refractory to multiple intravenous steroids.

Methods: Prospective interventional nonrandomized study including active GO defined by Clinical Activity Score (CAS) ≥4 patients resistant to previous intravenous steroids treated with Tocilizumab was conducted from February 2010 to September 2012. Snellen visual acuity, Hertel exophthalmometry, CAS evaluation, TSI levels, ocular motility, and side effects were registered at a 4-week interval.

Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is a rare, idiopathic, necrotizing, and non-infectious ulcerating skin disease included among the neutrophilic dermatoses. It rarely affects the eye, orbit, and/or ocular adnexa. We describe one case of PG affecting both orbits and the lacrimal sac in a patient with Crohn's disease.
