Purpose: This article presents the design and validation of evaluation criteria checklist aimed at facilitating decision-making processes regarding participation in research projects and allocation of resources before the preparation of research proposals.
Materials And Methods: A multidisciplinary team developed a comprehensive evaluation focusing on the proposal preparation phase of research projects. A Delphi survey method was used to establish a connection between the relevance of the project and the possible success of research proposals.
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) lineage C.37 (Lambda) has spread rapidly in Peru and other Latin American countries. However, most studies in Peru have focused on Lima, the capital city, without knowing the dynamics of the spread of the variant in other departments.

The objective of this study is to show the statistics in Mexico of lethality in kidney recipients infected with COVID-19 in relation to vaccination and variants of the coronavirus.
Methods: This is a bibliographic search of kidney transplant recipient patients since the start of the pandemic in Mexico to determine lethality after SARS-CoV-2 compared to the general population and in relation to patients, the 4 most important infectious peaks in the country due to identified variants, and also before and after vaccination.
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID19), caused by SARS-CoV-2, is a complex disease, with a variety of clinical manifestations ranging from asymptomatic infection or mild cold-like symptoms to more severe cases requiring hospitalization and critical care. The most severe presentations seem to be related with a delayed, deregulated immune response leading to exacerbated inflammation and organ damage with close similarities to sepsis. In order to improve the understanding on the relation between host immune response and disease course, we have studied the differences in the cellular (monocytes, CD8+ T and NK cells) and soluble (cytokines, chemokines and immunoregulatory ligands) immune response in blood between Healthy Donors (HD), COVID19 and a group of patients with non-COVID19 respiratory tract infections (NON-COV-RTI).

The genera Phlebovirus transmitted by Diptera belonging to the Psychodidae family are a cause of self-limited febrile syndrome in the Mediterranean basin in summer and autumn. Toscana virus can also cause meningitis and meningoencephalitis. In Spain, Toscana, Granada, Naples, Sicily, Arbia and Arrabida-like viruses have been detected.

Purpose: The purpose of this in vitro study was to investigate the accuracy of the anterior denture tooth arrangement on CAD-CAM complete removable dental prostheses made with the anterior tooth mold template.
Material And Methods: A maxillary and mandibular edentulous model was mounted on a semiadjustable articulator to simulate a patient's maxillary arch.
Intermediate-salinity environments are distributed around the world. Here, we present a snapshot characterization of two Peruvian thalassohaline environments at high altitude, Maras and Acos, which provide an excellent opportunity to increase our understanding of these ecosystems. The main goal of this study was to assess the structure and functional diversity of the communities of microorganisms in an intermediate-salinity environment, and we used a metagenomic shotgun approach for this analysis.

To evidence the control of dopamine release in dorsal striatum by CB R, we performed experiments of [ H]-dopamine release in dorsal striatal slices. We found a paradoxical increase in K -induced [ H]-dopamine release by CB R activation with GW 833972A and JWH 133 two selective agonist.

Current systematic methods for diagnosing have inherent limitations so development of a minimally-invasive diagnosis, based on the identification of sensitive biomarkers in liquid biopsies could therefore facilitate screening among population at risk.
Methods: In this study, we aim to develop a novel approach to identify highly sensitive and specific biomarkers by investigating the use of extracellular vesicles (EVs) isolated from the peritoneal lavage as a source of potential miRNA diagnostic biomarkers.
Halomonas elongata strain MH25661, a moderate halophile, was isolated from a saline creek in the Andes of Peru. Genome annotation analyses revealed genes that respond to osmotic stress and oxidative stress, genes that are involved in sporulation, and genes that are involved in transport systems and resistance to antibiotics and toxic compounds.

Despite the advancements in proteomic technologies, the scientific community still faces important challenges in terms of depth and reproducibility of proteomics analyses. Here, we present a multicenter study designed to evaluate long-term performance of LC-MS/MS platforms within the Spanish Proteomics Facilities Network (ProteoRed-ISCIII).

The objective of this paper is to compare the lipid content and composition ofbiomass produced by a consortium of microalgae and bacteria, cultivated under different solar radiation intensities and tropical conditions in pilot-scale high-rate ponds (HRPs) using domestic sewage as culture medium. The treatment system consisted of an upflow anaerobic sludge blanket reactor followed by UV disinfection and six HRPs covered with shading screens that blocked 9%, 18%, 30%, 60% and 80% of the solar radiation. The total lipid content does not vary significantly among the units, showing a medium value of 9.

Methods: From June 2005 to March 2009 we analyzed 75 patients affected by hemorrhoids (grades III and IV) who underwent haemorrhoidectomy in the University Hospital Arnau de Vilanova in Lleida. We evaluated the technique, the age and the sex, and compared the post-operative hospital stay, the post-operative pain and the complications with each of the techniques.
The Almadén area in Spain has a long history of mercury mining with prolonged human-induced activities that are related to mineral extraction and metallurgical processes before the closure of the mines and a more recent post period dominated by projects that reclaim the mine dumps and tailings and recuperating the entire mining area. Furthermore, socio-economic alternatives such as crop cultivation, livestock breeding and tourism are increasing in the area. Up till now, only scattered information on these activities is available from specific studies.

It has been previously shown that rats self-administering cocaine under long-access conditions (6 h daily) display heightened susceptibility to the reinstatement of extinguished cocaine seeking by a stressor, electric footshock, or i.c.
