Over the last few years, the addition of small amounts of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) to construction materials has become of great interest, since it enhances some of the mechanical, electrical and thermal properties of the cement. In this sense, single-walled and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs and MWCNTs, respectively) can be incorporated into cement to achieve the above-mentioned improved features. Thus, the current study presents the results of the addition of SWCNTs and MWCNTs on the microstructure and the physical properties of the cement paste.

Steatocystoma multiplex is characterized by the development of numerous steatocystomas. The condition has occasionally been related to congenital bilateral preauricular sinuses. Herein, we present the third case of such an association, a 34-year-old male who was born with bilateral preauricular sinuses that were surgically repaired.

High variability of HLA-B27 alleles in ankylosing spondylitis and related spondyloarthropathies in the population of northern Spain.

The distribution of B27 alleles (B*2701-23) was characterized by PCR-SSP in ankylosing spondylitis and related spondyloarthropathies (SpA) in a sample of B27 positive patients from northern Spain. Six B27 alleles were identified: B*2705,02,03,07,08 and B*2713. B*2705 and 02 were the most common alleles in the SpA studied: ankylosing spondylitis (AS) (n = 89), reactive arthritis (ReA) (n = 11), psoriatic arthritis (PsA) (n = 29), and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) (n = 21).
